Provider Guidelines

These guidelines outline expectations for housing providers who choose to list housing on the California Room and Board Coalition platform. Providers operate independently and are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations.

General Expectations

  • Provide accurate and truthful listing information
  • Treat residents with dignity, respect, and fairness
  • Comply with fair housing and anti-discrimination laws
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and habitable environment
  • Clearly communicate house rules and policies before move-in

Listing Responsibilities

  1. Keep listing information current and accurate.
  2. Update availability, pricing, and policies promptly.
  3. Upload clear photos that represent the housing accurately.
  4. Respond directly to inquiries from individuals or referral partners.

Providers are responsible for the content they submit.

What the Coalition Does Not Do

  • Inspect or certify housing
  • License housing providers
  • Guarantee placement or availability
  • Manage housing operations
  • Mediated disputes between providers and residents

Complaints and Concerns

Providers are expected to have a clear process for handling resident concerns or complaints. CRBC does not investigate or resolve disputes but may provide referrals to appropriate resources when requested.
