How the California Room and Board Coalition Works

The California Room and Board Coalition (CRBC) provide an online directory of room and board and independent living housing options across California. Our platform helps individuals, families, and referral partners find housing information in one place while allowing housing providers to manage their own listings.

If You Are Looking for Housing

Use the CRBC directory to search for room and board and independent living housing options across California.

You can:

  1. Search for housing by using the Find Housing Page.
  2. Review listing details, including location, amenities, and house rules.
  3. Contact the housing provider directly to ask questions or schedule a visit.
  4. Visit the homes in person and decide if it meets your needs.

CRBC does not place residents or assign housing.

For Referral Partners and Case Managers

CRBC receives and shares housing information through referrals from social workers, hospitals, housing authorities, 2-1-1, the Unite Us platform, and other community partners.

Referral partners may share CRBC listings with individuals they support; however, housing decisions and placements are made directly between the housing provider and the individual.

For Housing Providers

Housing providers may list room and board or independent living homes in the CRBC directory by creating an account and submitting a housing listing.

Providers are responsible for:

  1. Create an account and complete the provider application.
  2. Submit housing details, including photos, policies, and contact information.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date listing information.
  4. Respond directly to inquiries from prospective residents or referral partners.

Important Clarifications

Housing listings on this platform are submitted by independent housing providers. The California Room and Board Coalition does not inspect, certify, license, or manage listed housing.

Visitors are encouraged to verify housing details directly with providers and make informed decisions based on individual needs.

The Coalition serves as an information-sharing and advocacy resource and does not guarantee placement, availability, or housing outcomes.
